Hey y’all! Happy Friday! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve checked in. I’ve been pre-occupied with a lot of different things lately and I felt disconnected from my blog for a while. But don’t worry. I have a life update coming your way on Monday! Until then, I wanted to pop in and share a new Friday Favorites with you. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
Cold Case Files: The Podcast
I have been on a HUGE podcast kick lately. I’ve been listening to them while I’m in traffic on my way to work and while I’m working away at my desk. One of my latest favorites is the new podcast by Cold Case Files. Each episode is about 30 minutes long and so far, we’ve always found out who was responsible for the crime at the end! A few of my other favorite Podcasts are:
At the beginning of June, Schoen took me to Peli Peli for my birthday. I had heard rave reviews about the South African restaurant ever since we moved to Texas in January of 2015. I was blown away by how delicious the food was and how amazing the staff was. We started off with Bobotie and stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. The Bobotie stole the show! For our entrees we both opted for the Espetada, a traditional Portuguese dish. It was mouthwatering and the presentation was pretty awesome as well!
I am still regularly watching my home church in Oklahoma, Life.Church, online here in Houston. A few weeks ago they had a four part series called The Vow and it was amazing. It covered the vow of priority, pursuit, partnership and purity. I highly recommend watching this series whether you’re married, or planning to get married at some point down the road. It’s fabulous!
Nothing says summertime like grilling out while poolside. A few weeks ago some of our friends had a small pool party at their house. We hung out by the pool and grilled some delicious steaks for dinner. Our appetizers came in the form of Armadillo Eggs. Basically it’s jalapenos stuffed with chicken and wrapped in bacon. Delicious and oh so Texan!
The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson
I feel like I have been flying through books this year. As you all know, I finish most of my days reading in bed before falling asleep. I recently finished The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson. It was seriously good and threw me for a loop a number of times. If you like psychological suspense books, this one is for you!
